Megan & Robbie (wedding in Armidale)

25 Mar 2009

Hey Folks :-)

I have a gorgeous wedding to share today. It’s of Megan & Robbie’s. Megan and I were in the same year of school together and it was such a pleasure to be a part of their wedding.. and getting to catch up with old school friends! Megan was the most relaxed, gorgeous, fun bride…and Robbie was awesome fun..and I must say he had a really nice suit too!

Megan & Robbie were married at the Tas Chapel in Armidale, with the reception at the Booloominbah collection at the University of New England.

Megan wore her mums veil, hence the picture of the veil with her mum and dad’s wedding photo.

Love these photos. They’re worthy.

  14. Why don’t any of your photographs have correct skin colour?
Is it the actions that you use? Clean skin tones are the holy grail of wedding photography but hardly any of your people images have correct colour. A good trick is to put your hand up against the monitor to get an idea - it really works. By the way I like your style and envy the love you have for what you do

  15. Hey Sean, It’s not a priority for me. I’ve never had a client complain, they always LOVE the way the images look. If I ever have a client bring it up, then I’ll give it some thought. Thanks for the feedback though. Also, perhaps leaving a comment wasn’t the best place to give this sort of feedback, how about a personal email?

My apologies!

19 Mar 2009

I’ve been slack around here. Things will return back to normal from next week. I’ve been away alot actually.. travelling (I’ve been to Brisbane, Gold Coast, Byron Bay, Coffs Harbour, Sydney, Melbourne) in the past week as well as shooting a wedding, editing 2 weddings, designing albums, being a tour guide for my good mate Perry Thompson from Canada, meeting with Marcus Bell, Ben Rugers, Jerry Ghionis, Simon James, Yervant.. the list goes on and on…

I’m had an amazing time so far, but it all ends tomorrow! I’m in Melbourne right now, but I’ll be travelling back to Armidale tomorrow. I’ve been attrocious at replying to emails, but I’ll get on top of it all tomorrow when I return!

I cannot wait to share with you some of the shoots I’ve done recently.. including Megan & Robbies wedding! WOW!

In the meantime, sign up at the new Three Words website to be the first to find out about the new project that I am very nearly ready to launch.

Thanks for your patience (I hope)

JD

4 Mar 2009

I’ve been totally slack with blogging. I have a new brand & project that will be launched before you can say “antidisestablishmentarianism”.. so about a week or two!

I’ve been saving up a few things for the new Journal that will be a part of that.. but I had to give you all something!

Here are some portrait shots that I took a few nights ago!!!
