More madness

Saturday, March 31st, 2007

Lauren met the family! I think mum and murray think she’s too good for me. I completely agree.
We had a BBQ at my mum’s property & it really went so well. We went back to my early high school birthday party days and played Cricket.. we also added Tennis to the mix. It was awesome fun. Lauren got to meet most of my close friends and she was a bit of a celebrity playing Cricket. There were so many accidental (cough cough) drop catches when Lauren was batting.
We then sat around the bonfire while Greg told “emo” jokes. They were so bad.
Then yesterday we went to Dangars Falls which in my opinion is the biggest anti climax for a canadian when they have Niagara Falls. Then we had lunch with Jacqui (at the Grand Hotel) who Lauren will be staying with next week.. The food was so good! But… almost everyone trips when they walk in the door.. Lauren and I both tripped and I think I only saw 2 people fail to trip. They really need to do something about that exit. Here’s a picture.

Today we’re heading to Coffs Harbour & having dinner with Sally Friend who is one of my bestest mates ever. Then tomorrow night we’ll come back to Armidale and stay out at my mum’s place. Murray tells me that we’re going to be going shooting with him. Kangaroos? No… Just targets. Speaking of Kangaroos, I finally caved in and took Lauren to see the Kangaroos at the university. I used to have Japanese Billets stay with me as a kid and they always used to go there and do a peace sign, so I told Lauren to do the same to keep in with the tradition.

Enough from me. I’ll blog again in a few days upon my return in Armidale. I’m going to be taking some professional shots of Lauren while we’re away so expect to see those soon.

Day 2 & 3.

Thursday, March 29th, 2007

Wow what a busy few days we’ve had. We’re both rather exhausted after travelling around, meeting lots of people and doing lots of fun stuff.
We spent a few days in Sydney checking out the sights. We didn’t end up going to Taronga Zoo as planned as we realised that the restaurant that we were going to that evening was a really fancy one which required for us to get dressed up for so we both went shopping for that. We both scrubbed up well enough I think.
Earlier that day we went to meet with Mark & his crew from Storm Creative in Sydney. They will be working on the design for the new website. They currently do all the design for Midori, Frangelico and other funky brands and their work is just brilliant… hence why they’ll be working on the new site.
The next day we spent a few hours in Terrigal which is a gorgeous little coastal town which Lauren and I just loved. We spent a few hours walking around the Terrigal Skillion area walking on the rocks. It’s so nice there.
Then last night we arrived back in Armidale, Lauren met a whole heap of my friends at the Mark Ashton talk at the Anglican Church here in Armidale then Lauren helped me go through photos for a client who’s work I had to get done in a hurry for them. Her job was to press the right arrow while I pressed “P” for every photo that I wanted to keep. We got through it so quick.
Lauren’s currently talking to her Mum and Sister on skype while I type this.. and soon we’re going to my mum’s place to have a BBQ to celebrate Lauren being in Armidale. It will be the first time Lauren will have met my family.
Anyhow.. I will try and add more text and pics tomorrow.

Day 1

Tuesday, March 27th, 2007

Hey Y’All,
Day 1 rocked. I picked up Lauren from the airport nice and early in the morning & after freshening up we went into the city of Sydney. We went up Centrepoint tower, to Circular Quay, to Manly beach on the Manly Ferry and we had lunch there.. at a place claiming to have the best fish and chips in Australia. I think Rockfed Seafoods in Armidale would give them a run for their money.
Next we went to see an Imax at Darling Harbour.. It was about sea life or something.. rather interesting.. but not really a highlight.. Then I ran into a few people I knew from Armidale. First was Sarah who used to Model for TAWFA (the wool fashion awards) and I knew her through that. Second was Kat Millist who I knew through Church activities in Armidale, then I saw a guy named Alex who I went to school with. The funny thing was, after I saw the first 2 I told Lauren that I bet that I’d see one more person that I knew before reaching our destination. I was right. I think it annoys Lauren that i’m usually right.
Then we went to Doyles Restaurant on Circular Quay which was very special. My favourite waitress served us and.. she gave us brilliant service and the food was excellent. The Pasta Prawn dish kicks ass.
Then we came back to Joe Hardy’s place and crashed.
Woke up.. writing a blog post… and going to a website development meeting with Mark from storm creative this morning then we’re going to taronga zoo. Can’t wait for that. Murray has warned me that I should wear a hat so they know that i’m not an animal escaping.. nice one murray!

Lauren’s Here!

the first pictures…. More later tonight.

More shots from Meegan - Of ME!

Sunday, March 25th, 2007

Meegan just sent these through. It’s fun to see what you look like when you’re shooting.
I’ve just realised that my hair is way too messy and I’m getting way too fat for my suit.. but apart from that i’m perfect (apart from the other flaws)
Well i’m off to Sydney to pick Lauren up.. I really can’t wait to see her!
