The new site is up.. hip hoorah.. hip hoorah!
It’s still not quite finished though, and the blog is still being worked on.. but it’s really exciting to see it all progressing. Pete’s doing a great job.. mainly just with staying calm and putting up with my crap. I’m very impatient!
Anyhow.. i’m being a bit naughty and putting up these engagement shots up before another Martin and Sandy’s. I have a good reason though, it’s because Martin and Sandy hired me because they want some really creative arty type stuff.. so I think I need a bit more time in photoshop before putting their images up.
We had such a ball today though. Al and Chloe were sooooo soooo nervous when they turned up at my place.. you’d never guess though looking at the images. They look like pro’s!
I often joke with my clients and say that I could photograph anywhere.. even the tip. So, we went to the tip. I think I proved my point.

Just had to share this.

Saturday, May 26th, 2007

More will be coming tomorrow of this shoot but for now I just had to share this with everyone. This image tells a bit of a story which I just love. Whilst I was taking this photo of Sandy and Martin sitting in Martin’s BMW they were listening to the song which is now officially, “their song”. Just before I took this photo, Martin was speaking the words of the song to Sandy, and I think she fell in love all over again at that point. The song was by Debra Conway, but I’m not sure what the name of the song is.
That’s just the beginning.. Martin and Sandy’s first date was at the same location this photo was taken at… he’s parked in the same position that he parked in when they went on that date, and they shared their first kiss just metres from where this shot was taken.
I love being able to tell a story with one photo. It’s why I love my job so much. I squirmed when I just called it a job.. because it’s so much more than that.

For Photographers or people just wondering how the heck I did it: Canon 5d Camera. 85mm 1.2 lens. ISO 800, f1.6, 1/80. NO flash. Inside lights on in the car, headlights bouncing off the white wall in front of the car. I was at the rear of the car with the boot up. Freezing my butt off because it was so damn cold.

Rachel & Matthew

MORE PICS ADDED AT THE END OF THE POST!!!!!!!!
This morning at 6am Rachel & Matt and I headed down to Bondi Beach for their E-Shoot. I was so pumped after last night’s seminar that I just couldn’t wait to shoot.. I woke up at 5:30am jumped out of bed… shouted “bring it on”.. I never wake up happy.. so that was a first!
Rachel & Matt are the perfect couple to photograph.. they fully trust me and my wacky ideas, they live near Bondi Beach, and they’re a hot couple too. I had a ball.. I can’t wait until their wedding in October.

Jerry Ghionis + DWF

Wednesday, May 23rd, 2007

Jerry is the man. Simple as that. Jerry is the photographer for the Melbourne division of X-SiGHT. He had a seminar last night in Sydney where he showed the crowd how he produces such incredible award winning wedding albums, and also showed us a few tips for taking even better photos. It was cool, because 90% of the stuff he said confirmed what I already knew..it was stuff that I’d just learnt from experience and so It’s just boosted my confidence that little bit more. I met with the coolest bunch of people last night.. I’m still on a high. Talking with Ryan Schembri, Jeff Caplan, Jerry Ghionis and a whole bunch of other photographers really just was my wildest dream.
Here’s the coolest bit though. Later in the year, I’m likely to shoot some weddings with Jerry and Ryan. That will be an incredible experience.. wow wow wow!!!
Then this morning I was super psyched to shoot Rachel and Matt’s Engagement Session, and the photos speak for themselves.. just gorgeous.
Now just to top it off, this morning I was asked by a fellow photographer, and manager of the wedding division of Bond Imaging (which is the pro lab I use to do my printing) to shoot his wedding in Melbourne.. I’m already booked for that date..but what a great compliment!!!

Here are some pics from the meet-up:
