Chloe & Allan
Chloe & Allan got married yesterday at the Catholic Church in Tamworth, with the reception at Gregory’s on Goonoo Goonoo. I try and find something unique about every wedding I photograph, & I’d have to say the thing that stood out the most was that the guests were so much fun!
I enjoyed having so much creative control. Chloe and Allan completely trusted me and my decisions about what to photograph. It’s something that I’ve been noticing more and more.. my clients are letting go and giving me control. Lauren says that I’m a control freak, but I think it’s just nice when people recognise that you’re a professional and that you’ve got a pretty decent idea what you’re doing. At one point yesterday, Chloe said to Lauren, “I feel silly doing some of the things that James asks me to do, but then I look at the pictures and it’s all worth it.”
It was such a cool experience getting to shoot Chloe and Allan’s Wedding, they’re a great fun couple.
Oh, and Chloe’s mum has the most amazing long eyelashes! Woah!

Hi James, yep, but just starting out, doing portraits mainly ATM, but looking at getting into weddings - you work is inspiring and intimidating at the same time! Looking at your stuff I think that I’m kidding myself!

Hey Rach, Thanks for the kind words. But I think the only reason it would be intimidating is because it’s not in your style. I look at photographers who have a completely different style and I look at their work and am completely intimidated.. but then I just have to remind myself, that I have my own style, and no one is better than me within my own style.
I’ve had photographers that are starting up join me to shoot weddings before and I teach as I go.. but there is a charge. Email me if you’d like to gain some experience.

The photographs are great, unusual selection though. Loved the one on the staircase. TV is fabulous touch. Boy do you know how to pick a fight with Chloe’s mother Di..

Didn’t I see that TV at the tip a few months ago??

Twiggy: I’d love to know what fight you’re talking about
Martin: Yes, That’s the TV from the infamous TIP shoot!

These photos are lovely, Chloe looks stunning. It’s obvious you have an ability to make your clients feel at ease and therefore are able to take these wonderful, creative shots. Really liked the last one of them on the stairs and the TV. Can’t wait to see the rest, especially the ones of the bridesmaids!

[…] love this shot from Chloe & Adam’s wedding by James Day. There’s something a bit mystical and grunge about it but it’s totally glamorous. […]
