Bec & Joe (engagement)

Thursday, November 29th, 2007

Bec & Joe are troopers. They were so good to photograph. They put up with the dog that wouldn’t leave us alone and…well look at their pics. Freakin’ gorgeous!

Let’s start this off with a bang. This is one of those shots which I just looked at on the back of the camera and instantly thought “blog shot!”

We were tresspassing on someone’s rural property and their dog was just way too friendly….(don’t tell anyone about the tresspassing thing)

this shot reminds me alot of one of Jesh De Rox’s photos…

The light we had that afternoon was the best light i’ve ever photographed in.

this is what happens when you drop your camera :-) I thought it would be cool to put my camera on self timer, throw it into the air and see what happened….yeah the result was less than pleasing :-) :-)

Something a bit different from me.. I sometimes find myself distracted during engagement sessions by some of the natural scenery…my clients can testify to this.. i regularly stop to photograph some random thing..my reasoning? Just coz I can.

and let’s end with a bang. Such a yummy photo….. ahhhhh

Nick & Sarah (Live Proposal)

Tuesday, November 27th, 2007

They met in High School, and started dating 3 years ago to this day. Nick came to me wanting to do something a little different to the normal proposal, and asked me to capture one of the most incredible moments of his life to date. He got down on one knee and asked her to share her life with him. I stood back, and photographed the proposal as my body shook and as my eyes watched nervously through the viewfinder.. trying to work out whether she said yes or not…..at 5:56pm and 34 seconds she said yes!
The proposal took place on the Aanuka Resort Beach, then he had a limousine us up and take us to a cafe, then they head off to the Windmill Restaurant in Coffs Harbour.
I met Sarah when I was 14 and I was washing dishes at the Berry Best Cafe. Sarah and her family would visit every sunday afternoon and I would always try and serve them because they were so friendly. Chris my boss would regularly have stern words with me because I would spend too long talking to them.
Anyhow, enjoy these photos, and show everyone!

Matt & Katie (tagging along with Karissa Tuckwell)

Saturday, November 24th, 2007

Today I had a very unique opportunity! I got to hang out with Karissa Tuckwell from Image Digital Photography in Tamworth. Karissa had recently had an operation and was in need of an assistant.. so we thought we would make the most of the situation and learn new things from each other at Matt & Katie’s Wedding. I carried bags, grabbed memory cards, did some of my own stuff, and just generally loved being there to capture some really relaxed images, and having no pressure on me whatsoever as it was Karissas job.. not mine.
& the coolest thing was that everyone was totally cool about it. They seemed to love watching Karissa and I work together. I think I failed as an assistant though, because i’m way too bossy and I get really passionate about a shot I want to get, and I just jump in and get it. Karissa did well to put up with me without strangling me. I’ve never seen a photographer work as hard as Karissa. She’s like a little energiser bunny. Anyhow, I had a ball… I’d so totally do it again!
Now these pics aren’t watermarked with my logo as I really don’t feel that I own them! SO, everyone, feel free to do whatever with these images! May all the credit go to Karissa and her wonderful clients!
A wonderful moment where the garter fell off.. and the bridesmaid picked it up.. you can see her waving it around in the background.

I’m a weirdo. Karissa had just been taking the shots of Katie with her bridesmaids.. and I jumped in at the end.

Aside from writing long lists, and doing some deep soul searching tonight.. I took some time out to create this short trailer of pics from Nick and Michaela’s Wedding. I saw this cool idea on Ryan Schembri’s Blog and I thought i’d give it a go myself. It’s so easy that anyone can do it. Give it a go… if you create a really good one, then share it with me!
Simply go to www.animoto.com and you can create a photo trailer just like the one I made. Just choose your photos, the music and it puts it all together for you. + It’s free for the short ones, or like $3 for extra long ones.

p.s. I love my sweetheart Lauren.. SOOOOO damn much. If only everyone had a Lauren, the world would be a happier place. :-)

More of Hannah!

Thursday, November 22nd, 2007

Ok, thank you everyone who has commented on Hannah’s photos and to the people who have emailled me personally about them.
After finishing the collection for Hannah, I realised there are more images that I really want to share with you all.
& to everyone who i’ve seen over the past few weeks and I’ve been complaining about being exhausted… well I did a smart thing and take a day off yesterday. I got my hair cut and got some crazy streaks at Gosh Hairdressing (by the ever so wonderful Erinn) and just went home and relaxed for the rest of the day. I seriously recommend everyone take a day out for themselves once in a while.

This is actually my favourite from the entire shoot…
