Mitchell’s First Day of School
Yesterday, Mitchell had his first day of school! Mitchell is my little nephew.. he’s a little shy.. ok he’s alot shy.. and to get these photos of him was rather miraculous! I turned up at his school to watch him start his first day of school… choose his locker (he chose the locker with a picture of balloons on it) and meet his new classmates.
I was reminded of the importance of having photographs at special occasions.. I remember so vivdly my first day of school.. and holding on to my daddy oh so tight and asking him never to leave. I remember sitting on the metal seats outside the classroom, snuggling into him..and I really wish I had a photo of this moment. My dad passed away when I was 14 from a brain tumour…photos of my dad and I are so special, especially considering there aren’t very many. Dad was always behind the camera and wasn’t in enough photos at all.
It really was a blessing to be able to be a part of Mitchell’s first day of school and to relive some old memories that are so dear to me.

I wanted to say thanks heaps for the album. It’s great! But while I’m here i’ll say your nephew is so very cute.
James, these photos are absolutely gorgeous! I can’t pick a favourite. The last one is so sweet. Hope he had a wonderful first day.

I did the first day 5 times and believe me it can be as emotional for the Mums and Dads. What a lovely memory to share with us! Love the snuggling shot
