Samuel & Olivia E-Shoot (photo & video)

Monday, January 12th, 2009

*just thought i’d write this quick note letting everyone know that I think there is something weird going on with the comments box below? Please try and leave a comment, but I’m sorry in advance if it doesn’t work. Thanks to everyone who has facebooked me or emailled me with their comments instead*

Samuel & Olivia are 2 very awesome people who were up for anything.

So, when my 5d Mark 2 Camera (that shoots photos and video) arrived half an hour before their engagement shoot, I decided to take a chance and give photo and video a go. I love surprising clients.

There are some very impressive new videos out there showing off this camera and it’s video capabilities, my only problem with them is that they have all been with professional models, in controlled conditions, lighting, assistants.. plenty of time.. and without having to shoot images at the same time.

So what happens when a photographer picks up a camera and does photo and video by themselves? Check out the results below.

The video was all shot by me, and edited in free software, iMovie HD, by Matt Ebenezer from shadowplay…matt makes me look awesome with his great video editing. Thank you!

Make sure you check out the Shadowplay blog for a much better written evaluation of the camera and experience, and also Katie’s awesome shots from her second shooting role. Thanks to Lydia Cole for allowing us to use her song!

Here’s the video

Lisa & Luke’s Engagement (post 1 of 3 today!)

Friday, November 7th, 2008

Flip I’m nice. Maybe just today?

Today I will share almost everything! Everything but the parasailing images, because Lauren has taken them hostage!

Let’s start with Lisa and Luke’s Engagement!

We met in Dorrigo, amongst some of the most breathtaking scenery on this planet. Wicked shots, wicked couple.

Julia & Mick

Saturday, October 11th, 2008

When Julia and Mick came to me, I just knew I had to shoot their wedding. They’re a super real, no bull type of couple, which I totally love. It’s actually one of the things I love about living in Australia.. and particularly the country. People are in general very genuine.
Julia asked if she could bring the dogs.. and I was totally for that. Check out the pics we got with the dogs. AWESOME!

I’ll be shooting their wedding the day after coming back from Kristi and Richard’s wedding in Hawaii later this month, in The Hunter Valley.

Trish & Scott

Thursday, October 2nd, 2008

I know this may sound silly.. but I keep forgetting to blog my shoots other than weddings. I have so many to share, but I keep forgetting! I have a tonne to share with you over the next few weeks.
For today’s installment, I have the pleasure of sharing Trish and Scott’s engagement. We did this shoot a few weeks ago shortly after Scott got out of hospital, and not that long before the wedding!
On a completely seperate note (and this is by no means directed at anyone - just a general statement)
You might notice the new format for the images. I am just experimenting a little.. You might notice the faint “proof only - do not copy” on the images. That’s just a gentle reminder to you all that these images are to be used for the following purposes only:
1. Facebook style websites. (if you are using the images, they must not be cropped, or altered in any way.
2. Emailling to friends and family. (same goes…)
3. Screen savers etc..(and same goes again…)
4. Wedding Websites. (a link to my journal below the image must also be provided)

For any other purposes, please contact me.

Back to Trish and Scott. I hope this is a good representation of the fun we had that afternoon. Let’s do it again? :-)

Brock & Sandy

Thursday, September 25th, 2008

Hey Folks,
Welcome to blogging every day for a month, day 2!

As you can imagine, there’s only so much time that I can put aside to blog, and sometimes AWESOME photoshoots end up not being blogged. That’s the case for Brock and Sandy’s engagement, which we shot around 5 months ago!

Some of you may recognise Brock, he’s a rather well known country music star! His wedding is coming up soon, and I can’t wait to be a part of it and get to create the images that they love forever.

Tomorrow? Kerrie and Dave’s Lighthouse wedding!
