Friday, July 25th, 2008

Before heading out to Bree & Alan’s Wedding Reception, I shot a VERY quick family portrait for the Sarlo family at their gorgeous Hamptons home.

THE Clark Family

Thursday, June 26th, 2008

Just a very sneaky little peek from a shoot which I have just started editing. Such a fun, quick shoot that I will never forget. I will share more tomorrow about this! (Edited to add: Might be another 24 hours for this one as I decided to work on something else that was quick to do instead- You know.. being on holidays, it’s harder to get things done! arggh!)

Oh, and by the way, photographers- I need your help. I am so totally over photoshop’s save for web and would love it if somoene could give me a hand before I post the rest of these images. Even if I save them at a super high quality in SFW, it still loses some of the colour. I normally let it go as it’s not being printed or going in an album, but I’m about sick of it! Any ideas?

Davis Family Photos (sexytime)

Friday, May 16th, 2008

Last week, on a cold afternoon here in Armidale.. I photographed the super cute Davis Family. I loved watching them interact and having fun together. The Borat comments were coming thick and fast and “sexytime” was all that I needed to say to get the coolest expressions.
Some of you know that a few years ago I was the lead singer of a band called Ignition.. and I think their eldest daughter Mel was at every one of our concerts in the front row.

As a bit of an added bonus for you loyal blog readers, I’m giving you the password to see more from this shoot! To see the photos, go to www.jamesday.com.au, launch the website (not the journal) and enter “sexytime” into the client access box.

Only a few days to go and I’m off for 3 months. So if you need to catch me before I go.. then you had better get in quick!

Any ideas of what I should do whilst im in Canada? Leave me a comment with your suggestions

Here’s some piccies!

Of course, these were all edited using the yet to be released Unique Images Photography Actions! Snap these up quick when they are released!

Ben Rugers from Infinity Studios and his family!

Tuesday, January 22nd, 2008

Before Christmas, Ben Rugers from Infinity Studios made a trip down from Brisbane to check out the way James Day Photography does business here in Armidale. He dragged the family along too…. so we thought we may as well do a family shoot for them!
Ben has been doing some absolutely incredible photography recently.. and some absolutely off the chart trash the dress shoots! www.infinitystudios.com.au (he has a blog too)

Don’t forget that as of this sunday I will be travelling overseas until the 8th of Feb, so if you need to speak to me before I go.. time is running out!

Christmas

Wednesday, December 26th, 2007

So Lauren & I just returned from a lovely few days with my family. We spent a few nights staying at mum’s place which is about 35km outside of Armidale. They’ve got a gorgeous property with sheep, rolling hills, perfectly manicured gardens and a homely feel to the house. I always love staying out there. It’s so relaxing. You have no mobile phone contact out there, so I just left mine in the car and was just able to relax. Then today we spent boxing day with my sister and her family.
Lauren bought me a super awesome, most excellent gift, that being a SHOOTSAC by Jessica Claire! Every wedding photographer should have one.
So now that Christmas is over, what is there to do? Hmmmmmm
Here are some (LOTS OF) pics!

This is what was waiting for us when we arrived at mum’s house. Attractive isn’t it?

But they remained friends…

Then Lauren decided she wanted to be Santa.. ok I made her.

Oh, and my mum is a freak with a camera. I handed her my camera to take some photos of Lauren and I.. and this is what she came up with. She set up all the poses and was better than alot of pro photographers!

There were other photos I would have loved to have added.. but I have been threatened rather seriously by Murray.. basically because he looked a bit demented.

I hope you all had a lovely Christmas. Did you get some great gifts?
