Keynes Family Portrait! JD Styyyyyle.

Friday, April 18th, 2008

Last night I had a last minute family portrait for the Keynes Family here in Armidale. These guys made it such a great shoot as they all got on so well together.
There is a bit of a family get together for the Keynes family this weekend so I thought it would be cool to get these pics up pretty quick for them so they could share them with their family!

Wonderful Keynes family, I had fun with you guys! Please let me do this again for you someday!
Here’s a small sample.

Here’s a big fat plug! Email me TODAY (james@jamesday.com.au) to organise a family portrait. Tomorrow might be too late! The cost for the shoot is $250, and prints packages start at $350! How exciting!

The Discards

Friday, March 21st, 2008

The Discards are a band that came to me looking for a shoot that reflected their music, personalities, and generally for images for posters, cd covers etc.etc..
They’re fairly new to the music scene, being only 16 and 17 years of age, but are going to soon become household names across the country I’d say!
From their site …
“The Discards are made up of two, one loud, one very quiet, boys from the new england. They’re music is a mixture of Alternative, Acoustic, Rock, Pop, Folk, Roots, Electronic and whatever else they feel like at the time. They may even throw in a little hip-hop here and there!”

They have also just uploaded some of their new songs to their website so check them out!

For you photogs who know Jerry Ghionis, you’ll know exactly how I made them laugh.. and why their hands are in their pockets. Jiggle!

More of Hannah!

Thursday, November 22nd, 2007

Ok, thank you everyone who has commented on Hannah’s photos and to the people who have emailled me personally about them.
After finishing the collection for Hannah, I realised there are more images that I really want to share with you all.
& to everyone who i’ve seen over the past few weeks and I’ve been complaining about being exhausted… well I did a smart thing and take a day off yesterday. I got my hair cut and got some crazy streaks at Gosh Hairdressing (by the ever so wonderful Erinn) and just went home and relaxed for the rest of the day. I seriously recommend everyone take a day out for themselves once in a while.

This is actually my favourite from the entire shoot…

Miah

Tuesday, August 28th, 2007

Life is such an extraordinary thing that forever spins me out. Seeing a gorgeous little baby with it’s fresh opportunity for life just blows me away even more. What will gorgeous little Miah achieve in her life time? Such extraordinary things no doubt. I felt so privileged to be a part of recording a stage in Miah’s life, so early on in her story, which is life.

Photographers note: How the heck did I achieve these images? (big) window light, mottled bluey/grey cloth background, 85mm 1.2 lens, set on 1.2, no flash, or lights.. just ambient light. Then ran Kevin Kubota’s “fashion passion” action, turned off the colour adjuster layer, then bumped the curves on the background layer.

Non photographers note who have no idea what I just said, here’s the translation = Big Camera & Photoshop. :-)
