Parasailing in Hawaii

Saturday, December 13th, 2008

This post has taken a while to go up..but… While Lauren and I were in Maui, Hawaii for Kristi and Richard’s Wedding, we had a day off and decided to go Parasailing. I originally wasn’t going to go, and just organised for Lauren to go because it’s on her list of things to do in this life..but then I changed my mind and fought the chicken inside me.

For those of you wondering, no, it’s not really that scary, and yes I had so much fun and yes I would do it again.

JD in NY (2)

Tuesday, July 22nd, 2008

JD is back in NY! After a few days in the hamptons, I’m back in the City. I had an INCREDIBLE time in the hamptons and am totally going back. I now have an agent in the Hamptons, so I’d say i’ll be back there alot!

I am trying to stay off the computer as much as possible while I’m here in NY, so I’ll keep this nice and short.. but leave you with some awesome images from around NYC. I will be back soon with pics of the Hamptons and the first of our Video Tutorials. They really need a name.. let’s call them J Clips. (if you’ve got a better name, leave me a comment!)

Um…

So, it’s been a fun couple of days here that I’ve had. I’ve spent a bit more time hanging out with photographers, yesterday I spent half the day with Perry Thompson (www.perphoto.com) who is one of the nicest guys and most talented business men and photographer you’d ever meet. He’s been in the industry for almost as long as I’ve been on this earth! He’s got 20 or 30 people working for him, and part of his business (his wedding side) is exactly where I want mine to be in 12 months time. I shot a video of him yesterday, and I will add that sometime next week!

Last night Lauren, Twila (lauren’s sister) and I went out to dinner at this funky restaurant called “open sesame” where they get you to choose everything that goes into your meal… and they put something together from those selections. Pretty funky I reckon! They also top everything with Sesame Seeds! We all got dressed up and made a night of it! Here are some pics.

Just driving along as a passenger.. and this caught my eye.

Calgarian Photographers

Thursday, January 31st, 2008

Woah, People in Calgary are so lucky! The talent of the photograpers in this town truly blows me away. I had lunch with a stack of them at a swanky lebanese restaurant on monday. After this, I actually left my point and shoot camera in the car.. and it was like a popsicle when it was finally retrieved. It still works though.. go Canon!

Thanks Bob, Rich, Stephanie, Lulu, Anna & Perry!

I’m really struggling with the weather here… It’s actually painful to be outside.. even when youre all rugged up.
So, I’m watching the news… and near here.. they found 2 sisters completely frozen to death after they went missing.. I seriously believe that people were not designed to live in this weather. I used to try and always convince Lauren to come and move to Australia, now I realise I don’t need to do a thing to convince her. Yippee!

Lauren and her sister Twila made me the most yummy cake ever for my birthday on sunday. I originally thought it was a Koala, then I guessed a kangaroo.. but of course.. it’s a sheep called Yummy!

I’m really scared of Lauren’s dad Keith, not because he’s strict, simply because this is what he looks like when he walks in the door.

Soooo Cold (here in Calgary Canada)

Tuesday, January 29th, 2008

I just heard that it’s -48 with the windchill. You’d think these people would be smart enough to move to Australia? But no…..
