Megan & Robbie (wedding in Armidale)

Wednesday, March 25th, 2009

Hey Folks :-)

I have a gorgeous wedding to share today. It’s of Megan & Robbie’s. Megan and I were in the same year of school together and it was such a pleasure to be a part of their wedding.. and getting to catch up with old school friends! Megan was the most relaxed, gorgeous, fun bride…and Robbie was awesome fun..and I must say he had a really nice suit too!

Megan & Robbie were married at the Tas Chapel in Armidale, with the reception at the Booloominbah collection at the University of New England.

Megan wore her mums veil, hence the picture of the veil with her mum and dad’s wedding photo.

Love these photos. They’re worthy.

Greg & Ali (armidale wedding)

Thursday, February 19th, 2009

So as not to cause a distraction from the awesomeness that was Greg & Ali’s Wedding.. I will definitely talk about that first.. but make sure you scroll down and keep reading as there will be lots more quicy info to share!

Greg & Ali turned up to their first meeting with me with both their mums. I knew this was a great sign.. I knew that this would be a great group of guys to work with.. and a wedding that I was very excited about being the photographer for.

The weather really was one thing that stood out.. it rained pretty solid the whole day.. but rather than that getting anyone down.. I think it actually improved the experience. It’s funny how these things happen.

The day started off with me heading out to the boys.. at Greg’s parents place.. a little out of town. Then off to the girls who were staying at the executive oasis apartments in town. The wedding was held at St Ursulines Chapel, next to the main Catholic Cathedral in Armidale. When I looked at the shot of the Chapel I knew there was something very special about it.. but since then I’ve found out that this is the last wedding that will ever be held in that chapel. WOW! The nuns who run the chapel are leaving, so there will be nun left to run it :-)

The bridal party photos were taken inside the nuns house next to the chapel, as well as a family friend of the grooms family’s house. Thank you!

We then went on to the reception out of town on “The Selection”, which is a part of Greg’s families property. There was a gorgeous marquee and was catered by Jazzamatazz.

They went on to party through till 4am I believe. I definitely believe it!

THE END..

…but not quite. An interesting thing happened on the way to the wedding. I was pulled over by a policeman who informed me that my drivers licence was suspended, my car rego was cancelled and I was in big trouble. HUH? I was totally flabbergastered! Anyhow.. to cut a long story short..I had an overdue parking fine from Feb 08..which I didn’t realise wasn’t paid.. and one thing lead to another and this all happened without me realising it. I never saw any letters or knew anything about this until he pulled me over. You can imagine how shocked I was when he told me I had been driving illegally since July 08. I’ve driven in the USA, Canada and every day here in OZ with no idea! The policeman was very gracious and let me off any charges as he understood that I had no idea. I now have my licence and rego again.. but boy what a drama!

Enjoy the photos!

p.s. I’m really looking forward to getting a new blog. This one is driving me crazy!!! The photos are always out of order!!! I’ve tried contacting the developer, but they don’t reply! If you read this.. email me dude!

Alex & Belinda (wedding in Uralla)

Friday, January 23rd, 2009

Last weekend, Alex & Belinda got married in Uralla! What a fun wedding it was, with only the couple in the bridal party.. it was such a relaxed time. We ended up being finished the shoot in plenty of time and coming and sitting in my office listening to Jason Mraz, eating crackers and dip, drinking champagne and relaxing until they needed to arrive at their reception.

They had their reception at the newly refurbished Powerhouse Hotel (it used to be called Cattlemans) and I can only speak good words of this reception venue. Great food, service, attitude and location. Armidale brides, get in there and book them!

Alex & Belinda are such a fun, laid back, and awesome people to spend the day with. Watching Alex as Belinda walked up the aisle was a pretty powerful thing.. he really adores that girl of his!

I have so so so so so much left to share.. I’m really behind on blogging. From next week I might try blogging every day for a while again.. we’ll see…

Sally & Ben (wedding in coffs harbour)

Tuesday, January 20th, 2009

I’m sitting here with my nephew Christopher, who is 8 for one more day.. tomorrow he turns 9!!! Christopher had a sleep over, and I thought i’d show him how I update my blog, as he is one of my blog readers. Yay!

I’m here of course, to present to you a small selection of Sally & Ben’s Weddings Photos. It’s with great joy that I do so, because Sally is one of my friends whom I have known for many years.

Sally & Ben were married at LifeHouse Church in Coffs Harbour, which is a very very cool church! I always love visiting there when I’m in Coffs. They give out bottles of water which have a label on them that have a graphic illustration of “God”, and text reading “I created water”, - God. Very clever!

Ben & Sally’s wedding was full of emotion. It’s definitely evident in these images, but also in the video that Matt from Shadowplay filmed. He is potentially the first Australian to shoot a wedding video in Australia fully on the 5d2 Canon Camera. Go on over to his blog to see the video.

I watched it so many times… I know you will too! I was telling Matt that my style of photography videos well because I keep people active and having fun. I couldn’t let Matt’s head get too big so I had to take some credit.

I’ll sign off and let you enjoy these gorgeous photos.

JD & Chris.

p.s. Can you let me know if you have problems leaving a comment? My email is james@jamesday.com.au if you have any hassles!

Ever wondered what a whole JD wedding looks like?
