Amber & Scott (wedding)

Sunday, December 14th, 2008

“You look beautiful darling” This is what Scott said as Amber approached him as they were about to be married.

Amber & Scott’s perfect day was held at the Pavillion function centre, in Tamworth. My iphone weather app was telling me to expect a huge storm, but Amber had been praying so hard, that nothing could get in the way of Amber and Scott’s perfect wedding.

Amber & Scott had a marvellous group of people around them to help celebrate their marriage, even the guy that liked to whip my butt with his tie every time I walked past. :-)

It was such a joy to witness the way Amber & Scott revel in each other, and being privileged enough to be with them with a camera in hand whilst this happened.

Amber & Scott, I wish you all the best in your married life together, and can’t wait to have you in the studio for your PREMIERE of your wedding collection!

Stephanie and Daniel (wedding)

Sunday, December 7th, 2008

“Tell her she’s pretty even if she looks like a truck”. This is something I’ll never forget. This is also something that Daniel will never need to remember.

Every wedding is special, but there was a special something about this one, perhaps it was the outwardly visible love that Stephanie and Daniel had for each other, or the loving support network they had there to celebrate their wedding with them.. or perhaps both? Whatever it was, this was a wedding I’ll never forget.

Steph looked like a princess. I don’t mean that in a way where you say it to compliment someone, I mean she LOOKED LIKE A PRINCESS! I could have quite easily been photograhing royalty. Daniel was looking quite dapper, but didn’t look like a princess :-)

Daniel & Steph met nearly 4 years ago, when Daniel was Steph’s R.A. at college. Dan picked Steph out as his, and soon enough she fell for him.  They’ve been through alot together, and these best buds are so in love that nothing could break them apart.

Everyone has been asking me about these photos.. well here they are folks. There will be another post going up with photos from the CRAZYBOOTH! Just you wait!

Thanks Steph, Dan and both your families for having me be a part of this celebration of your new life together.

p.s. It really upsets me when people come and go without leaving a comment! Comments show me that people are enjoying the photos, and it’s a well known fact that if we get enough comments, I often do another post with more photos form that wedding! Win/Win!

Casey & Sarah (wedding)

Wednesday, December 3rd, 2008

Welcome to those of you who are finding this website after seeing this wedding featured in today’s local paper, the Armidale Express! I regularly update this part of the website with lots and lots of new shoots, with weddings making up the vast majority of the posts.

I was expecting to have fun.. I’ve been looking forward to this wedding for a long time…Having a couple of crazy cops getting married.. how could you not have fun? I’m so intrigued by their job.. I ask so many annoying questions i’m sure…

What I wasn’t expecting was to be so moved by emotion, unlike never before at a wedding. The father daughter dance moved me to tears behind the camera, I was so glad I was able to hide behind that HUGE camera.

I’ve also never felt so special at a wedding.. Casey and Sarah called me up during their speech and thanked me in front of everyone. It’s nice to be wanted!

Ok, so this wedding wasn’t about me.. and you didn’t come here to read about my experience with this wedding..

With their reception Marquee perched on top of a hill, Casey & Sarah rode up to their reception on horseback. It was an amazing sight, with every guest in sight holding a camera out to celebrate the event and capture this unique moment.

Gareth Rickards was the MC for this event too… the greatest MC in history! Gareth has been the MC for a few weddings I’ve photographed, the first was for Casey’s brother Taylor, who’s wedding I photographed 2 years ago. It was so good to see Taylor and Alison, with their baby daughter at this wedding.

I know you’ll love this wedding, it was a special one!

p.s. Thanks to Emily the work experience girl from Narrabri who came down for the week to hang out and learn some stuff. I hope you’re my competition one day!

Jake & Natalie (wedding)

Tuesday, November 25th, 2008

Last saturday I had the pleasure of photographing Jake & Natalie’s Wedding at Aanuka Beach Resort in Coffs Harbour. Jake’s father is a professional photographer, so I knew the pressure was on, but I enjoyed the extra pressure.

It was a hot, windy day, so windy in fact that the official documents blew away during the ceremony. I went for the thickest looking bit of paper and it was the marriage certificate!

I had a total blast shooting this wedding. Bring on the Coffs weddings!

Chris & Karen (wedding)

Wednesday, November 19th, 2008

Chris contacted me whilst I was in Canada, and started asking me all about my camera and my gear… I could tell he was into photography, then asked me if I was available to shoot his wedding a few months down the track. Because someone changed their wedding date, I was free on that date at such short notice!

I made the mistake of trying to shoot Chris and Karen’s engagement shoot the day I returned from Canada at the end of August. I got  half way into it and was near ready to collapse, so next time I was in Sydney, we did a bit more.. it was cool because we got such different stuff the second time around. I’ll share those engagement pics in the next week or so!

Lauren came with me to shoot this wedding, no doubt she got some amazing shots, but truth be told, I haven’t loaded her card yet onto the computer. I might do a post with just shots that she took next week also. She really is impressing me with how much she is picking up! My girlfriend is awesome :-)

The Wedding was unique in many ways, but the memory that may stand out the most for me is that there was a blackout in Inverell during the reception, and the kitchen staff needed to borrow my video light so they could see the steaks they were trying to cook with their gas stoves.

Well folks, enjoy the photos of Chris and Karen and stay tuned for soooo much more this week.

p.s. I’m getting rather tired of this blog! I can’t even get the images to load in any order and then the thumbnails jumping around below… grrr.. stick with me though folks, things will be changed! I have spoken to so many of you who just find this new blog so annoying. I hear you!
