welcome to james day photography

I woke up at 5am this morning.. rather annoyed.. as it didn’t seem I would be able to get back to sleep.. & I’ve got a super busy day today, so I needed all the sleep I could get.. but then shortly after waking up…my blackberry went off with a facebook wall post from Rob and Lauren telling me that I’ve been blogified! -meaning that the shoot that they did of Lauren and I is now on their blog.
I was expecting good things from them, and I gave them a super hard time while they were shooting me. I did my random fake posing, I stuck my middle finger up at them alot..apparently there were enough photos from that for a full blog post.
I am so blown away with the results. What do you guys thing? Isn’t Lauren gorgeous! That isn’t a question… it’s a definite.

Just a quick note to let you all know that I’ve arrived safely back in Sydney, and am back on deck when it comes to work related things! I can’t wait to get back into it and get back to helping my clients. I’m also totally booked up now here in Sydney for shoots and meetings.
It’s a 14 and a half hour flight from Vancouver to Sydney, and I slept 9 hours of it.. and woke up to do a bit of photo editing.. I woke up briefly to grab the evening meal that they serve, then fell asleep before I touched it.. then woke up to find it gone. That’s how deeply I slept! My recommendation when flying for long haul flights like that is to get a window seat as you can just plant your face against the window and sleep. That’s what I do anyway. I must have looked a sight though. I was wearing shorts, a black t shirt and black dress shoes with white socks. They are my most comfortable shoes, but they didn’t exactly go with the rest of the outfit. Lauren was pleased though, because she knew it would mean that no girls would go anywhere near me as I practically looked homeless. Imagine me walking into the sheraton on the park hotel in this… I was the only one without a suit on.

*7 meetings tomorrow.. wish me luck!
*6 days till Lauren leaves Canada bound for Armidale!
*I’ve just been informed that Canada Dry is available in Australia.
*The city is so expensive
*Australian winters are so lame. It’s barely even cold here.
*$11 for a beer at this hotel. What the!?
*Why is it always my shout? ARGH! I’m on a shouting strike! (for those of you wondering what I’m talking about.. Shouting someone is the way aussies say paying for somoene. So when you go out for a meal and someone wants to pay for the other.. they say “my shout”.
*I REALLY love my clients.
*I am really behind on blog posts. I have so much that I have promised to post..e.g. Giveaways.. shoots..tutorial videos.. they’re all coming folks!
*A new blog is coming.. I’m meeting with the designer tomorrow morning and it’s looks AWESOME so far.. Nice and simple.. just like me!
*Rubbing my hand on the lounge that I’m sitting on feels awesome.. Especially when you rub it against the grain.. lol
*You can make free calls from the iphones at the apple store. I was checking out the apple store here in Sydney and the phone I was looking at started ringing..so I asked what the deal was… and they said that someone must have placed a call from the phone and someone is returning their call! Who knew!

Hey Folks,

Some of you knew, but most of you wouldn’t know that I’m in New York City, in fact, staying right on Times Square! I’m here to document a Wedding Reception/ Summertime Celebration/ Clam Bake for Alan & Bree! They were married in Australia on NYE last year, and are now having their New York Reception. They live in NY and have commissioned me to come over and shoot this for them. Cool gig huh? The shindig will be in the Hamptons, and it’s going to be an absolute blast.

If any of you NY photographers want to get together, then shoot me an email. I’m sure I’ll have a little bit of time free over the next few days (im in the area till tuesday) which brings me to my next point.. between tuesday afternoon and friday morning I will be in Toronto hanging out with a few photogs… a few non photog friends.. but once again if you want to do something.. then you just shoot me an email!

Hey Everyone,
It’s here.. introducing the new logo!

Let me take this opportunity to explain why it looks the way it looks.
Firstly, Annabelle from Storm Creative designed this logo. In case it’s not completely obvious, the graphic extending off the J, is a representation of a camera lens. After being trained for a short while by Simon James, and his business name was called Lime Imagery, we thought it would be appropriate to use lime green as the colour scheme.

Expect to see this logo around a bit.. I’ll be sponsoring an Indoor Soccer team called “Snap!” and they’ll be wearing T-Shirts with the new logo (this is actually the team I play for). Also, we have enviro bags with the logos, stickers, dvd’s and lots of other promo material… You’ll no doubt see it somewhere around the place.

Things are all set for the Tamworth Bridal Expo this sunday. We’re going to be launching our biggest prize yet.. and I dare say the biggest prize ever been given away by a photography studio. Check the blog on sunday evening, or come and see me at the Tamworth Bridal Expo to find out more!
