I just watched a short 5 minute video on youtube about starting with your “why”. It got me thinking… “why do I do this?”

Then I saw a card sitting next to me from Penelope & Brent who’s wedding I photographed a couple of weeks ago in Esperance, W.A. This is what the card said.

“James + Cath,

Thanks for making the trip to W.A. and being cooler than we could have ever imagined.

Everyone who met you at our wedding had the nicest things to say about you, so much so, many of them made a point of telling us how great you both were.

Your photos will be the first “good” photos we’ve ever had. Aside from actually getting married, having photos from our day that we would be proud of was our highest priority, so making sure we invested in the right photographer was so important to us.

We’ll never forget the night we got a reply from Cath saying our date was available, and me running from one end of our house to the other to tell Brent. We were both so excited.

Your passion and talent is unquestionable. We feel incredibly grateful to have had you photograph our wedding for us.

If you’re ever on this side of the country again, you’re always welcome at our place. There are so many beautiful places to see in the Goldfields + Esperance.

Thanks for doing what you do, and for just being genuine, down to earth, awesome people. We can’t wait to see what you’ve created for us!
